Georgian Envelope Locket Ring

Elegant Georgian gold and pearl swivel ‘envelope’ ring with a rectangular glazed locket bezel. c.1800.

The form is simple and stylish with a sentimental meaning of a hidden secret.The crystal rectangle can be carefully prized open and snaps firmly shut. The glass is perfectly bevelled and set.

Originally have likely held a keepsake such a lock of hair or miniature of the beloved.
