Weighty, quality 15 carat gold citrine seal swivel fob with a double intaglio armorial for the Scots Oswald family c.1790.

Heavy reeded handle, tapered strapwork with boss detail.

Seal 4 cms.

The crest of a dexter hand issuing from a cloud pointing to a star with the family motto ‘Sequamur’ (Let us follow).

The Oswald family lived in Fingalton,Renfrewshire,Scotland.

The seal likely belonged to James Oswald(1703-1793) the Church of Scotland minister or his son George Oswald(1735-1819) Lord Rector of Glasgow University.
