Giardinetti Pendeloque Earrings

Rare foiled ruby and diamond foliate pendeloque earrings with the cluster,bow and drop form so popular in the c18th,the exuberant design reminiscent of the 'giardinetti'(little garden) rings of the period. Lovely wearable size,so often these pendeloque earrings are twice the length and extremely heavy to wear.

Portuguese c.1760.

1 1/2 inches long by 1 inch at the widest part of the bow.

Original hinged ear fittings,one re-soldered at the hinge long ago.
