The interior is inscribed ‘Judith Tucker died 25th Nov aged 56’.

Judith Tucker was the daughter of Abraham Tucker(1705-1774) a wealthy country gentleman who devoted his life to the study of philosophy and wrote ‘The Life of Nature Pursued’.His daughter transcribed the work when his eyesight failed completely in 1771.They resided at Betchworth Castle,Dorking which Judith eventually inherited.
