Beautifully executed Neoclassical portrait miniature of a barechested and bearded athlete,possibly a wrestler. Typical idealised classical features and hairstyle reminiscent of  French School painting of the period c.1800.

Set to a rose gold frame,cobalt glass to reverse. Miniature 2 by 2.25 inches,with bale 3inches.

Housed in original red morocco oval case.Immaculate condition.
