Opaline Mourning Locket

Substantial Georgian 15 carat gold memorial locket  dated 1817,superbly crafted.

The enamel border reads 'Sacred to the memory of 3 lovely infants of R. & M.A.Alexander who died in July 1817.Most deeply regretted'.

Initials,seedpearl and fine hairwork laid on pretty foiled opaline and then glazed both sides of the opening locket.
