Victorian Diamond Wishbone Pendant

Victorian 15ct gold and rose diamond wishbone pendant c.1890.

The wishbone is studded with three rose diamonds and subtly reeded towards the ends.

The wishbone symbolised luck and love, and the three diamonds are also symbolic of luck.

1.2 inches including bale.

The wishbone tradition, where two people break the bone after making a wish, has ancient origins, dating back to the Etruscans in Italy around 800 BCE.
