Georgian Ouroborus

Crisp high carat gold and crosshatch enamel ouroborus mourning pin 1815.

Inscribed 'James Lean Ob.29 May 1815 Aet 3 Yrs 4 Mo's'.

The snake border is highlighted with red enamel in the eye and mouth, a fashion only seen 1810-1815. An inner border in white enamel reads Not Lost but Gone Before,and at the centre lies the blonde weave of hair under crystal.

Very fine condition. 1.2 inch by 3/4 inch.
