Rococo Urn Ring 1767

One of the most unusual and poignant forms of Rococo mourning ring is where the urn forms the bezel and itself contains the weave of hair of the beloved held forever in a crystal locket.

This delightful high carat gold urn ring  is studded with iron pyrites, the enamelled shank reading 'N.Gwynne died 1 Sept 1767 aged 33'. Unusually the language used is vernacular rather than Latin.

Size 4. A rare find for the true collector.
