15 carat gold Victorian lucky horseshoe locket c.1880.

Finely engraved with fern and floral decoration including a reserve intended for initials as yet vacant.

The wedge shape of the locket imitates the horse’s hoof.

The seven nails are also symbolic of the lucky number seven.The number is considered lucky in many cultures and has a far reaching associations in religion,mythology,superstition and philosophy.
