Superb portrait miniature of a young girl holding her doll c.1780, Continental School, likely French or Swiss.

The girl wears a green striped dress, a tiny gold earring and a mob cap tied with a pink ribbon.

Gold pendant frame, curled hairwork to glazed reverse.

I haven’t managed to locate the artist but an accomplished hand and a rare subject.
